All of us have either played or seen a recorder in our lifetimes, most likely in the elementary school years. Soprano recorders are easy-to-learn musical instruments used for introductory music classes. More advanced players might get to play the Alto recorder or even the Tenor recorders. By physics principles that governs there instruments, the deeper the recorders sound, the bigger they get. However, very few people have ever heard of a bass recorder. It does exist and it looks like this when it leans against our piano.
It took me a good 1 hour to get the first octave sound right. My C note was still too slow. My weak thumbs started to feel wobbly soon after. The shear weight of this solid ABS resin plastic tube is one solid piece of work. I like the sound of this instrument. It's not as piercingly high as the soprano recorder. The gentle hum of the notes will be my singing voice from this day forth.
