House for Houses

This seems to be the recent trend. The Southslope area in Burnaby used to be a retirement neighborhood. When we first moved here, the average age was around 60 in our block. All my neighbors were folks with nothing to do all day besides mawing the lawn. That has changed around due to the property value hike. The folks here moved to cheaper places to free up the extra cash so they can enjoy their late life better, while new immigrants move in, making this a relatively cultural diverse neighborhood.

The aging houses near the skytrain have been bought in bundles to pave ways for the townhouse complex. I wonder how much sky will these residences be able to see in the future?

This is one of the houses being demolished, for a few days it became hobo/vandalist heaven.

The new townhouses do look ass-kicking, though. The new vinyl siding are well-coordinated in terms of.
